He gets it popping but it's not pop, listen to him: Music Mondays w/ Homeboy Sandman

He has more bars than granola promoters, He caught ebola and didn’t notice. He’ll put you on ice like Wayne Gretzky. He back and forth like Ponce De Leon.  The cat I’m talking about is Homeboy Sandman, a lyrical tyrant (Those were all paraphrased Sandman lyrics back there) (Myspace.com/homeboysandman).  He has been rocking the seen for a minute and has not ceased to amaze.

I remember when I first saw Homeboy Sandman perform, I became an instant fan.  I was Shooting for ChillyS that night and he completely rocked the crowd and I had an eargasm (pause) because his brand of hip-hop was truly unique.  Sandman’s music is something I can attest to being vitalizing, virtuous and refreshing yet still fun enough to play at a party (When I spin Sandman tracks at parties I DJ, I’m always asked, “Who is that? That shyt is dope/nice/etc.) “We Can Fly,” “iTunes Song” and “Lightning Bolt. Lightning Rod.” became instant favorites and from there it was history.

Sandman has two albums out on iTunes, “Nourishment” and “Actual Factual Pterodactyl” (How do you resist buying an album with a name like that? Let alone the dope tracks that are on that album) and his new album, “The Good Sun” is coming out May 4th (I can’t wait!) and will be available in a Best Buy near you!

Here is “Angels with Dirty Faces” off the new Homeboy Sandman for you enjoyment.

Bras, Facebook, and Judgment

The bra color status on Facebook was a hot topic in my meet up group the other night. Wow, did it get heated.

I host a weekly discussion group with six women. It has become a weekly event of bonding and sharing, where I facilitate discussions aimed at coping with any type of challenging situation they might be facing, whether that be person or professional.

In other words, I facilitate how it is to cope with all of the shit we all deal with every day. Who doesn’t have shit these days?

Somehow the subject of Facebook came up during our discussion. One by one, each woman began to bash Facebook. It was as if we were at one of those Saturday girls night outs where boyfriend or husband bashing was the topic of the moment. Facebook became the new boyfriend/husband to bash.

Judgment was flying high. Comments like: ” People who post on facebook are so pathetic!” “Where do these losers get the time?” ” What is wrong with these people, I just don’t understand!” The comments continued as everyone’s emotions grew into a Facebook frenzy. I silently was the observer. Knowing full well, that I am a Facebook and Twitter queen wanna-be. I had just made this very statement to my business partner.

I paid attention to my own emotions and body reactions as these women were bashing the very vehicle that I am so fond of. Their comments, “Facebook people are pathetic” did not hit me in the belly. Did it hit you in the belly? I’m always curious about such things and would love to hear your comments, especially about Facebook.

Suddenly the bra status subject came up. Someone asked me if I knew what the color status meant. To be honest, at this time on Thursday evening, I was not aware of the Breast Cancer Awareness status update. I replied that I thought it had something to do with the MTV show Jersey Shore ( talk about judgment, well that is a whole new blog in itself)

The mere mention that women would flash their boobs ( or share their intimate apparel color) because of a TV show brought on such a diatribe about these women and Facebook. I find it so very interesting when anything can bring such strong emotions. Strong emotions always bring me new clarity.

The following day I read and heard how the bra color status was all about a breast cancer awareness campaign. Soon I saw floods of new groups on Facebook about it. I read blogs an tweets about it. I’ve heard it said that when it comes to publicity, all publicity is good publicity. It did not seem that way when it came to this campaign. Some people seem angry about it.

I coud not help but wonder, that when I meet with my group next week, if I mention that the women who flashed their boobs did it in the name of Breast Cancer awareness, would it then be a cause “worthy” of baring your breasts over? Would their opinions change? Is cancer more worthy a cause than TV fun?

How do you feel about this breast cancer campaign? Would you feel different if the campaign were for the Jersey Shore show, or do you feel nothing at all? I would love to know.

What becomes most evident to me is that I witnessed i alot of emotions around boobs. I also witnessed alot of judgment. My interest goes toward all the judgment.

To be continued.

MTV's Jersey Shore's Snookie Sex Tape??? & famous Punch Video

‘Jersey Shore’ secrets: Sex tapes and boob jobs. Okay, the last? Not so secret.

By Vicki Hyman/The Star-Ledger
January 06, 2010, 5:48PM

At least two members of the cast of “Jersey Shore” have taped themselves having sex. (As opposed to MTV taping them, we guess.) During a recent photo shoot with Life & Style, both Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Ronnie Magro owned up to sex tapes, though Ronnie says he’s deleted them off his phone (and he didn’t say whether they involved his housemate, Sammi Giancola, whom he is still dating).

Snooki says she’d never sell her tape(s): “I don’t want people to watch me doing that,” sasy the woman who stripped to her underwear and hit on four consecutive men in a hot tub within hours of meeting them and performed back flips in a dress so tiny that her crotch had to be blurred out. “It’s a private thing.”

Vivid Entertainment founder Steven Hirsch tells L&S that a sex tape with Snooki could fetch as much as $3 million.

Meanwhile, Jenni “JWoww” Farley tells L&S that she bought herself breast implants just before her 21st birthday. “I didn’t really need to go bigger, but I wanted them. I’m really happy with them now.” So was half of Seaside Heights.

Actor Willem Dafoe plays some Big Buck Safari @ MTV

Arcade machines aren’t just for arcade venues – they can be great for offices too. The people at MTV Multiplayer certainly think so and they not only have a Big Buck Safari onsite, they have an ongoing celebrity tournament running on the machine where they invite the celebrities that they interview to compete for the highest score. This of course offers some fun for the people who come in for interviews and it also provides some decent mainstream media coverage, as we see here with actor Willem Dafoe getting in on the tournament. Mr. Dafoe is starring in a new vampire/sci-fi movie called ‘Daybreakers‘ which releases today.

MTV's Jersey Shore Punch! Ronnie Arrested...plus Funny VIDEO!!!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. —

The guys on “Jersey Shore” are known for their fist-pumping antics on the dance floors of Seaside Heights – and cast member Ronnie Magro kept the fists flying outside the club and landed behind bars.

According to People, following an altercation in September, which was caught by MTV cameras, Magro was arrested for aggravated assault for striking a man with a closed fist.

The 24-year-old reality star told the mag that he was notified by mail that the charges were dismissed, but said he spent a few hours in jail, had a mug shot taken and paid $600 in bail.

“I definitely felt out of place,” Ronnie said of his time in jail. “It’s definitely a place I never want to go back to again. Definitely a lesson learned.”

Ronnie claims the fight erupted after an unidentified party yelled “racist” comments about the cast member’s African-American security guards and allegedly possibly spat on him.

“I really don’t feel bad for the altercations that I did get into in Seaside because I’m really not a person who likes to fight,” Ron explained to the mag. “He was just being a drunk jerk, saw the camera… [and] I think he chased us down like two blocks or something like that. At that point, you’re like, ‘What am I gonna do?’”

Ronnie, who was also involved in a separate fight, which will be featured on the January 7 episode of the MTV series, says he and his cast mates were often targets while out on the town.

“You’ll see throughout the show, we do go out and if we do get into an altercation… it’s us just defending ourselves or reacting to somebody else,” he told the mag. “People [were] out of hand… I regret getting arrested. I don’t regret having the fight.”

Though Ronnie said the charges were dismissed, Mike Mohl, chief of detectives with the Ocean County prosecutor’s office, told the mag that the case is currently with prosecutors and is under review.

No Truth To Eclipse Test Screening

FROM MTV.COM: After news spread that Summit Entertainment was holding “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” test screenings over the weekend, testimonials began to appear online from fans who had the chance to see the flick. The only problem? There was no test screening, so the testimonials were anything but accurate.

A source close to the “Eclipse” production told GossipCop.com that rumors of the screening are “absolutely not true.” Also, any testimonials being published online on sites like Alex’s Memories are equally untrue. The source said specifics around any trailers and screenings for the flick have yet to be announced.

“There is absolutely no merit to this claim,” a Summit Entertainment rep confirmed to MTV News about reports of the screenings. “We noticed it over the holiday on multiple message boards and sites, and it appears that some of this was spam.”
