Papa-Paparazzi

Lady Gaga performed on Saturday Night Live (03/10/09) and once again, she did not fail to ENTERTAIN me. From her quirky costumes to her rather unique moves, I always find her performances to be more of an art exhibition. It’s almost as if her vocals are a piece of art (along with her lyrics that are often playful and facetious), her outfits and look of the performance are another and then her movement is the final composition that shapes her exhibition.

However, if you think that was good, check out this

GRAND PRODUCTION

People may hate on her and say what you will, but you can’t deny that she is an ARTIST.

Her song though, got me thinking. People nowadays are SO obsessed with the ‘celebrity’ culture and how does one see these celebrities? In Magazines.Blogs.TV….We see photographs of celebrities all the time and these photos are available to us because of the paparazzi.

Are the paparazzi today’s artists? Their work is exhibited all around the world for everyone to see.

Sure, some of you may say, “they just take photos”, BUT photography is an art form…therefore photos are art. We can’t define some photos as art, whilst shunning others – so every photo is a piece of art and hence the photos the paparazzi take are pieces of art. Pieces of art that, just like paintings done by world reknown artists, sell for a lot of money. The bigger the celebrity, the more it sells for…

So I ask you, think again. Are the paparazzi today’s artists/a representation of the modern-day artist?

Okay enough ramble..I’m not even sure if I’m making any sense anymore.

PEACE
